The Honoree for Women’s History Month at Montevallo University in March of 2018, Kimberly Meadows Clark has received many accolades in a short time. She was recently awarded the Amelia Boynton Robinson Women of Valor Award for Leadership by the Tuskegee University Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in February of 2018. In 2017 she received the Jefferson County Millennial Democrats award for Business Leadership. Also, in 2017 she received the “Game Changer” Award from IAG and was recognized by The Young Black Progressive Caucus as a Leader among Women of Color. In 2016, Kimberly was recognized by the Metro Birmingham Chapter of the NAACP, for Outstanding Community Service. She is employed as a Case Manager for Firehouse Ministries as an advocate for the under-served. Kimberly attended Fairfield High School and recently became the first female owner of a Professional Sports Team in her state. She proudly owns the Magic City Surge, a local Men’s Professional Basketball Team (American Basketball Association). Kimberly stated “I am excited about this new venture, and I am hoping I can save our youth by implementing community outreach and other service through sports. She is also Development Director for GLOVE (a non-profit that assists homeless victims of domestic violence). Kimberly recently spearheaded a screening clinic for the homeless, working closely with the School of Health Professions at UAB to provide preventive services for those in need (this clinic was recently recognized nationally by the United States Public Health Service and Interprofessional Education collaborative, where she received an honorable mention for her work). She also helped establish training opportunities for the homeless at LSCC, which gifts them free welding and electrical training. Through Kimberly’s heart of service see was able to initiate a national campaign for the ABA, PEP TALK ABA (http://abaliveaction.com/2017/08/31/pep-talk-aba-announced). She received her certification in Basketball General Management and Scouting from SMWW and a certification from Columbia University School of Professional Studies in Sports Essentials.
Kimberly’s hobbies include: singing, playing the cello, drawing/painting, and spending time with family. She recently married musician/artist Christopher M. Clark in September 2015; they have three beautiful daughters, and a grandson. They currently reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
